FireFox overhauls Internet Explorer in Europe

In Europe, Firefox 3.0 has overtaken Internet Explorer 7.0 according to statcounter.com. Worldwide, Firefox 3.0 still has to close a gap of more than 13% to catch up with IE 7.0. Nevertheless, the coup in Europe is marking out an important moment in the browser history. The open source community, historically strong in Europe, can celebrate this new victory over Microsoft. As long as Microsoft will not be converted to embracing the open source values, it will see many more lost battles.

Very interesting, is actually the failed efforts of Google to promote Chrome as the new open source browser. Probably, the user community is not that convinced of the integrity of Google and Google is probably not doing its utter best to promote this alternative browser.
