iMerge buys Magento-implementer Vivendo for quick relaunch

iMerge - investor in ICEshop, Batavi, Futurumshop and ICEcat - buys the leading Dutch Magento Commerce provider Vivendo. A quick relaunch is essential for recovering customer satisfaction and preventing lasting brand damage.

iMerge buys - after a successful bid and a relaunch plan - all assets of bankrupt Vivendo from curator Jan Davids and continues with a part of the Vivendo staff. Last Monday, a formal agreement was reached for the takeover. The past days, Vivendo and iMerge staff worked jointly together to transfer hosted Magento webshops to ICEshop's hosting platform in Amsterdam, to provide continuity to Vivendo's webshop clients. Martijn Hoogeveen: "It is an interesting opportunity for us to create economy of scale as an ecommerce provider, and at the same time help troubled etailers. We see an interesting opportunity for relaunched Vivendo as system integrator for open source ecommerce solutions. Both in the mid market and high-end segments of the ecommerce sector".

"Vivendo - a known player on the Dutch ecommerce market - will become an independent daughter-company of iMerge, but at the same time benefit from the ten years of ecommerce knowledge and experience in the rest of the group", according to the new manager Vivendo, Babiche Tervoort. "I am happy that I can finish in the new setting the job that I started in Vivendo, as there is a big need in the market for a reliable open source webshop provider. I am looking forward to professionalize project management and customization projects in the relaunched Vivendo. We can rely on the extensive knowledge and experience of especially ICEshop". ICEshop, active since 1998, is both a host provider for ecommerce solutions as a web shop implementer, reknown as investor in open source brand Batavi. As Linux host provider, ICEshop supports various software platforms, including Magento, MySQL/Sphinx, Batavi, and a multitude of client-specific software. Further, Vivendo will actively benefit from the outsourcing units of iMerge in Ukrain, where iMerge is running specialized open source projects for more than ten years. Finally, ICEcat sees the presences of Vivendo in a large number of business- een strategische belang in de aanwezigheid van Vivendo in voor haar nieuwe categorieen.

Curator Jan Davids is glad with the quick relaunch: "This is good for the existing clients and maintains employments. iMerge has made a good impression on me during the relaunch as a determined and reliable company with vision and experience in the webshop market".
